AGGIES DODGE BAYLOR BULLET

It is difficult to phrase this in a Godly or gracious manner, but the Baylor Bears did out perform the Ag’s in College Station by all measurements other than the score. Unfortunately, the score is the only one that counts and is remembered.

Congrats for an outstanding effort by our coaching staff as well as our spirited players. They gave us much to be proud of Saturday. On more than one occasion the TV announcers heralded the return of the Bears as respected representatives of the elite Big XII standards. VISION 2012 SELLING LIKE HOTCAKES

As further evidence of the appeal of 2012 and Baylor’s adventurous direction are the early tabulations of Fall ’06 applications. Applications through today are approximately 500% ahead of the same period last year. Remember, BU’s fall ’05 freshman class is the largest in history. This begs an interesting question; how big should Baylor be? With greater demand for the product there is also the opportunity to be more academically selective as well. If you have strong opinions on the subject, e-mail us your comments.

BAYLOR SUPPORTS HURRICANE VICTIMS

The Baylor family has comprehensively reached out to help many of the families affected by both hurricanes. Evacuees have been housed at BU facilities, the University has supported the efforts of Seventh & James Baptist Church in feeding and sheltering a number of families, and over $25,000 was raised on campus for the hurricane response fund “Paws for the Cause.” Thanks to all the volunteers and donors and thanks to Texas Baptist Men who did such a marvelous job on the scene of both hurricanes.

Pray for all the affected families including members of the Baylor family who were directly impacted by Katrina & Rita. Baylor Regent John Reimers from Beaumont, as an example, had his home significantly damaged by the storm.

VISION 2012 AT NOTRE DAME

The model of great academics and research consistent with Christian principals was the subject of discourse at Notre Dame last week. Several members of the Baylor faculty as well as Chancellor Robert Sloan were guest panelists for the program. It is great to know that 2012 has drawn so much interest from the national academic community.
