Kyle Woods Fundraiser Off to a GREAT Start

Congratulations to Coach Teaff, Professor L.M. Dyson, Scott Smith and Radar Holt for an incredibly successful kick-off for the Kyle Woods fundraiser. Coach Teaff and his group are raising money to build a home for injured football player Kyle Woods. For 24 years Kyle’s teammates and coaches have remained committed to him and his needs. The ceremony was really uplifting and it was encouraging as well to see so many former BU football greats.

Several members of our organization, represented by Robin Jones, Neal Jeffrey and Le’Shai Maston, presented a $10,000 check towards the cause. Friends of Baylor will publish on a regular basis the names of all contributors towards this effort.

Take a Shot at Free Tuition with the Friends of Baylor

Friends of Baylor also sponsored a “shot” at a $25,000 scholarship at the kick-off BU Basketball event Friday night. Dr. Scott Livesay represented Friends of Baylor in giving a student an opportunity to make a shot from half-court that would have won that scholarship amount. Unfortunately the student, Matt Ivy, missed. Had he made the shot, Coach Scott Drew might have put him on scholarship!

Friends of Baylor is Growing Strong

Fans have been very complimentary of the bumper stickers we have been distributing at the football games as well as the Grant Teaff radio spots. Coach Teaff used his own thoughts and words on the commercials which generated hundreds of positive phone calls from listeners. One of our Aggie friends called to say that: “Coach Teaff is a Baylor icon and his integrity and reputation make him a perfect salesman for Baylor.”
