FOB REACHES “GOALS”

You will be proud to know that FOB will fund the purchase of the new goal posts for the south end zone. Gloriously, the old ones were vanquished in the aftermath of the A&M victory. Barring an upset, Oklahoma will visit Floyd Casey Stadium as the #1 or #2 ranked team in the nation. We have advised Athletic Director Ian McCaw that we have budgeted for 2 new sets of goal posts in anticipation of an even bigger celebration.

HOME OF CHAMPIONS BILLBOARD

FOB has also agreed to extend the contract on the “Champions” billboard for the benefit of Baylor. We are also working on a separate location for a Singletary/Teaff billboard. It is important to note that FOB is always looking for opportunities to support and promote Baylor. We believe that Baylor booster and alumni organizations should exist for the purpose of “giving back” to Baylor, especially financially.

CONGRATS TO BAYLOR “MOAS” TEAM

For the eighth straight year, the Baylor Model Organization of American States (MOAS) Team dominated a MOAS simulation sponsored by the World Affairs Council of San Antonio, Texas. Twenty universities, including five from Mexico, represented countries in the Organization of American States (OAS). Students worked on issues of concern to the hemisphere as varied as Free Trade, hemispheric security, development, and the post-Castro transition in Cuba.

CONGRATS TO ENGINEERING STUDENT ERIC GREEN

Baylor University engineering student Eric Green, a senior from Sugar Land, has been selected as one of the top five senior engineering students in the United States by the national electrical and computer engineering honor society, Eta Kappa Nu.

Dr. Jim Farison, professor and chair of the department of electrical engineering, said Green had made significant contributions to the department, as well as to Baylor’s chapter of Eta Kappa Nu. “He has been an outstanding student in electrical engineering, already a demanding program, but he has also incorporated both the Baylor Interdisciplinary Core (BIC) and the University Honors program.”
