The Ferrell Center underwent a little redecorating as a 2005 National
Championship Banner was added to the rafters prior to the UCLA game.
An adoring crowd of over 9,000 experienced a very special event in Baylor
history as that banner became a permanent monument to the Lady Bears
achievements. This year’s edition of the Lady Bears thereafter
paid appropriate homage to the banner by defeating UCLA, Indiana, Texas
A&M-Corpus Christi, California and Marshall. You could fill up an
entire Thanksgiving “thanks” list with what the Lady Bears
have given the Baylor family. We do thank you Coach Kim and Ladies.

Rumors suggest the race for the George W. Bush Presidential Library
is headed to a photo finish between BU and SMU. The potential reward
for Baylor and Waco is huge, but likewise is the commitment to secure
this opportunity. A group of Friends of Baylor Steering Committee members
are gathering in Waco today to rally the effort. Contact Tommye Lou Davis
at Tommye_lou_davis@baylor.edu to offer help.

Baylor’s Distinguished Professor of Rhetoric and Communications,
Dr. Martin Medhurst has just received the prestigious “Distinguished
Scholar” award from the National Communication Association, recognizing “a
lifetime of scholarly achievement in the study of human communication.” There
are only 42 living members of this august company. Baylor is honored
to have on of our best recognized as one of “the” best, anywhere,
in his field. Congratulations, Dr. Medhurst and congratulations to Baylor
2012 as well!

Come check out new BU President Dr. John M. Lilley’s praying prowess
at the President’s Community Prayer Breakfast Friday, January 6th,
6:30 am at the Ferrell Center. Contact Amanda Keys at (254) 710-8857
for reservations.
Head Football Coach Guy Morriss deserves a big “Sic’em” for
such a great football season. A thumping of OSU in the season finale
served as an appropriate conclusion to an exciting and encouraging year.
A bobbling catch of a fourth down pass at A&M is all that separated
the Bears from a bowl game. Coach Morriss and his gridders gave us loads
to cheer about and great dreams for next season. Thank you gentlemen.

Please remember the Milton Hixson and Arnie and Rosie Cavazos families
this week. Both families have been hit with difficult medical news of
late and need our prayers of support. There are no two finer and godly
families than the Hixson’s and Cavazos’. We appreciate and
love them all.
