BAYLOR INVADES
Twenty-one Baylor Faculty are in route to
Northern Iraq to conduct education workshops at Dohuk University.
The workshops are designed to help the Iraqi's rebuild their higher
education system. Future baseball hall of famer Orel
Hershiser has joined Baylor's Steering Committee that is pursuing
the Bush Presidential Library.
Given Chairman Drayton McLane's success in signing pitcher
Andy Pettitte and perhaps Roger Clemens to the Astros it should come
as no surprise that he could add Orel to his "Baylor
rotation." STUDENT
RECRUITMENT PROGRESSING WELL Deposits for the '04 class continue to
outpace '03 numbers.
President Robert Sloan and surrogates are maintaining a
feverish pace in stumping for students both within and outside the
state. The Baylor
message is resonating at the many venues where presented. A strategic plan is in place
to institutionalize the delivery of that message nationally. There are families all over
the country interested in great academics delivered within a
Christian environment.
We merely need to introduce them to Baylor and the results
will take care of themselves. ROUNDBALLERS
HAVING SUCCESS Coach Kim has the ladies on the brink of
a national ranking with early season successes. The Lady Bears currently
stand at 7-1 with only one loss to Penn State. Coach Drew has kept the men
much more competitive than predicted and with the clearance of
Harvey Thomas to play today should continue to surprise the
critics. Also, please continue to consider the
"Kyle Woods" fundraising effort at Kyle Woods Trust, c/o Allen
