FABULOUS MEN’S TENNIS STREAK ENDS
It was heartbreak time in College Station last night as the Baylor men’s tennis team 57-match streak ended in the National Championship game against UCLA. More maddening was the fact that BU was just one point away from winning the championship on three different courts during the last one hour of the match and couldn’t eke out the win. We must count our blessings nonetheless: (1) Baylor was “UPSET” in a National Championship game. (2) This team won the Indoor National Championship. (3) This team won the Big XII Regular Season and Tournament Championship. Congrats Coach Knoll, Benedict, Matija, Michal, Lars, Jon, Benjamin and Vladimir on a wonderful season.

WOMEN’S TENNIS STILL STROKIN’
BU freshman Zuzana Zemenova became only the second Baylor women’s player to make All-American when she advanced to the round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament. Zemenova defeated Aniela Mojzis of North Carolina yesterday and meets Anne Yelsey of Stanford today. Sic’em Zuzana!

JUDGE PRISCILLA OWEN TO BE VOTED ON BY UNITED STATES SENATE
The 11th hour bi-partisan agreement by 14 Senators has freed Judge Owen from the filibuster threat. She is now eligible to be voted on by the full Senate body. Her nomination to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals has been the subject of great debate and hopefully will end successfully for this great Baylor grad. Click here for the full story.

BAYLOR WOMEN’S SOFTBALL REACHES SWEET 16 – SUPER REGIONAL TO BE HOSTED AT BU
The Baylor softball team blasted through the regional tournament in Alabama last week and now brings the tournament home for the next round. What a huge accomplishment for this formerly lightly regarded program. Congrats Coach Moore and Ladies. Watch the Lady Bears on Friday, May 27 at 7:00 pm at Getterman Stadium as they host California.

BASEBALL TEAM SHARES BIG XII CHAMPIONSHIP!
Mizzou may have denied the Bears the outright Big XII Championship, but they still earned a duplicate of the trophy! Congrats to the Bears and Coach Smith who was named Big XII coach of the year. The Bears begin Big XII tournament play at 1:00 pm today in Oklahoma City against Kansas.
