THE BAYLOR BEARS ARE NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!

The Baylor men’s tennis team skunked UCLA (winners of 15 national championships)
4-0 in Tulsa last night and captured the NCAA Division I National Championship. Our guys did not loose a single set! They were marvelous.

The stands were jammed with green & gold fans that roared at every point. The Baylor faithful clearly predominated the atmosphere of the tournament. President Sloan, Athletic Director Ian McCaw, Doug Smith, as well as BU Regents Walker Harman, Joe Armes and Dale Jones were all there to witness the joyful event.

The three happiest people at Center Court however had to be Coach Matt Knoll, tennis patron (and FOB Steering Committee Member) Scott Livesay and Dave Campbell. Coach Knoll took us from worst to first. Scott invested serious time and money into the program and demanded that it be first class. Dave Campbell has kept our spirits up for generations through thousands of near misses.

The BU team led by Benedikt Dorsch, Benjamin Becker, Matias Marin, Reiner Neurohr, Matija Zgaga and Ivor Lovrak were simply awesome. They fought back from deficits at multiple junctions and refused to lose. These young men are great students and incredibly enthusiastic Baylor ambassadors.

IT’S ALL GOOD!!!
