CONGRATS TO NEW INTERIM PRESIDENT & NEW REGENTS
Last week, the Baylor Board of Regents named law professor Bill Underwood as Interim BU President effective June 1 when Dr. Sloan becomes Chancellor. Professor Underwood is the highly regarded practice court teacher in the Law School and also recently represented Baylor with their NCAA hearings regarding men’s basketball. We wish Bill all the best. Also elected by the Board as new Regents are Anne Graham Lotz of Raleigh, NC, Ramiro Pena of Waco and R. Dary Stone of Dallas. Anne Graham Lotz, an internationally renowned Christian speaker and author, is also a member of the FOB Steering Committee. Anne and her husband Dr. Danny Lotz are also parents and parents-in-law to Baylor grads Traynor and Morrow Reitmeier and Rachel Ruth Wright. Anne will bring tremendous opportunities for positive exposure for Baylor. Mr. Pena is a well-regarded Waco Pastor, former employee at Baylor and the son of a former BU Regent. Mr. Stone, a Dallas businessman, has been very active with Baylor Athletics and also served as a Co-Chairman for Friends of Baylor.

LADY BEARS ON GRAND TOUR
The celebration of our fabulous Lady Bears Basketball National Championship has hit the pro-sports circuit. Recent appearances at Houston Astro’s and Dallas Maverick games will soon be followed by a May 27th Texas Rangers event. THEY LOVE’EM!! Standing ovations greet the Ladies and Coach Kim wherever they go. Regent Drayton McLane really did it right at the Astro’s game last week by escorting the Ladies into the stadium in green Cadillacs, playing highlight videos on the scoreboard and placing the team on the pitcher’s mound to watch coach Kim deliver the “first” pitch. (P.S. Coach Kim zipped it!) This can go on all summer so far as we are concerned. Click here for the full story.

FRESHMAN ’05-’06 CLASS CLOSED!
That’s right, no new applications will be considered for next year’s fall class. The fall class is full and there is a waiting list! We do not mean to hurt the feelings of any students not yet accepted, but we are grateful that so many have made Baylor their first choice.

MEN’S TENNIS = #1 TOURNAMENT SEED
The men’s defending National Championship tennis team enters the NCAA Tournament as the #1 overall seed. The NCAA may have miscalculated where the Lady Bears Basketball team should have been seeded in March, but they got men’s tennis right. Coach Knoll’s boys are the ones to beat – but we pray they don’t! Also, Baylor Senior Benedikt Dorsch has become the first tennis player in Big XII history to be named player of the year for the third consecutive year. Sic’em Bene!

BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL LOOK GREAT HEADING INTO PLAYOFFS
Men’s baseball and women’s softball both maintained their national top ten rankings this week. The men won a hard fought series from Tech and continue to lead the Big XII. Let’s make sure we follow both squads wherever they go in the tournaments.
