Regents Meeting

The Baylor Board of Regents will meet today and tomorrow in Waco for their annual retreat. Please keep the Board in your prayers as they discuss many important issues and plan and prepare for the year ahead! Also, welcome to new Regents Dary Stone, Ramiro Pena and Anne Graham Lotz who are participating in their first meeting on the board! Friends of Baylor will send an overview and press release from the Regents meeting early next week.

Ditta and other greats meet in Dallas

The BU Athletic group headed by former Baylor All-American Frank Ditta was hosted by Dary Stone at his home in Dallas on Saturday night. Frank came all the way from Sydney, Australia for the event! BU football greats Robin Jones, Walter Abercrombie, Alfred Anderson and Ben Baker, in addition to others, were in attendance. It's great to see the guys from the glory days still involved with Baylor athletics!

Baylor to be Represented at ESPY Awards

Coach Kim Mulkey Robertson and former Baylor track star and Gold medalist Jeremy Wariner will represent Baylor tonight at the ESPY awards in Hollywood. The Baylor women's basketball team is competing against the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots, the San Antonio Spurs and the USC football team for the Best Team Award, while Wariner is one of three vying for Best Male Olympic Performer honors. ESPN will televise the 13th annual industry-wide sports celebration Sunday, July 17 at 9 p.m. ET from Hollywood's Kodak Theatre. Way to go Baylor athletics!

Baylor Homecoming

Don't forget to purchase your football tickets and make your hotel reservations for Baylor Homecoming which will be October 28-30. The Bears will take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Saturday, October 29th and tickets are going fast! We hope to see you at Homecoming 2005!

G.W.B. Presidential Library National Steering Committee Meets Monday in Waco

The National Steering Committee for Baylor's George W. Bush Presidential Library proposal will meet on Baylor's campus next Monday to review the official proposal to be sent to the White House and to get an update on Baylor's standing as the White House prepares to review proposals from all across the nation. Several Friends of Baylor steering committee members will be present for the meeting and will inform you soon of ways you can help Baylor in this historic endeavor.
