Lady Bears Meet with President Bush at White House

The Lady Bears National Championship Basketball team traveled to the White House and were congratulated this morning in a Rose Garden ceremony by their neighbor from Central Texas, President George W. Bush! Click here to read the President's Remarks.

Board Wraps up Annual Retreat

The Baylor Board of Regents wrapped up their annual retreat last Friday which focused on the integration of faith and learning and the exciting year ahead at Baylor. The Regents unanimously re-endorsed their strong commitment to Baylor 2012. The Resolution states: "Resolved, that the Board of Regents of Baylor University reaffirms its commitment to Baylor 2012. In furtherance of Baylor's commitment to outstanding teaching, Baylor will continue to enhance opportunities for research and scholarship among its faculty. Baylor will continue to recruit and hire highly qualified faculty who are committed Christians, including Christian scholars and scholars who are Christians. We expect every faculty member to examine and consider how his or her faith impacts his or her professional life. The Baylor Board of Regents reaffirms its commitment to the University's historic Baptist heritage." For more on the Regents Meeting click here.

George W. Bush Presidential Library National Steering Committee Meets at Baylor

The National Steering Committee which is leading Baylor's bid for the George W. Bush Presidential Library met for the first time Monday on Baylor's campus. The steering committee, led by Drayton McLane, Jr., reviewed Baylor's proposal and heard from the three consultants who are assisting Baylor in this historic endeavor. Reports from Waco are that Baylor's chances and prospects are as good as any University's and that we are right where we want to be in the process! Thanks to the vision of Dr. Sloan and the hard work of Tommye Lou Davis, Drayton McLane, and our talented consultants, along with the support of the Baylor family, Baylor's proposal will be sent to the White House for its' review in just a few short weeks.
