for the Presidential Library and the medicinal benefits of consuming Dr. Pepper. You
could not find two better ambassadors for Baylor than these BU officials.

Regents Conclude Successful Session
New Board Chairman Jim Turner and President John Lilley had the pleasant responsibility of presiding over a Board retreat that was filled with positive reviews of the progress of the University and its Vision 2012. Dramatic improvements in the research credentials of the University; records for applications, acceptance rates and class average SAT scores; sound financial performance and the distinct furtherance of Baylor’s Christian mission were all proclaimed. Congrats to the faculty, staff and University leaders whose sacrifices and commitment led to such a positive result. Baylor is truly poised for greatness.
Baylor Athletic Alums Shine

Although Sophia Young and Jeremy Wariner no longer wear the “green & gold,” they
continue to “fling it” everywhere they go with their athletic accomplishments. Sophia
made the WNBA All-Star squad in her rookie season with the San Antonio Silver
Stars and Jeremy ran a personal best 43.62 seconds to win the 400-meter event
at the Golden Gala event in Rome. Every time one of these world-class
athletes succeeds, Baylor gets mentioned. How much is that worth?
New President of Mexico Has Spiritual Connection in Waco
The Reverend Ramiro Pena, Pastor of Christ the King Baptist Church in Waco, served as a spiritual advisor to president-elect Felipe Calderon and several other members of the P.A.N. party during the recent elections in Mexico. Ramiro, a Baylor graduate and Regent, participated in a historically close election event that saw both presidential candidates claim victory at one point or another.
