THE NEXT BAYLOR GENERATION Congratulations are in order for two recent BU graduates and their FOB Steering Committee parents. Kenna Lang, daughter of Linda Gauntt Greendyke and stepdaughter of Judge William Greendyke, graduated as the highest ranked student from the College of Arts and Sciences. She also was Phi Beta Kappa with a 4.0 GPA. Chris Neilson, son of Dr. Bill and Carol Neilson was named the “Outstanding Senior Graduate of Baylor University” this summer. Chris’s father received the same award 28 years ago. Chris starts law school at SMU this fall and Kenna begins her law career at BU Law School this week. How exciting to see Baylor represented by two such outstanding families. THE ABNER V. MCCALL HUMANITARIAN AWARD Congrats to FOB member Gil Stricklin for receiving the Abner V. McCall Humanitarian Award at the August 14th Graduation Commencement. The Abner V. McCall Humanitarian Award is presented by the Alumni Association in recognition of alumni who have exhibited a Christian response to those situations and persons around them in ways exemplified by the life of the late Baylor president, Abner V. McCall. The 2004 award recipient, Gil A. Stricklin, is founder, president, and CEO of Marketplace Ministries Inc., a national faith-based contracted chaplain service to secular businesses, with headquarters in Dallas. Gil has been married for forty-six years to his Baylor sweetheart, Ann March, a 1958 Baylor graduate. They have two sons, Art Stricklin ’83 and Cliff Stricklin ’86, and four grandchildren. Way to go Gil!
