THANKS FOR THE THANKS We have been overwhelmed by the e-mails and letters congratulating and encouraging our Board of Regents for their leadership at last months Regent meeting. Many of these have been posted under Voice Your Support at www.friendsofbaylor.com. I think you will enjoy perusing them. If you haven’t shared your opinions and feelings, please do so, it does matter. Please encourage your Baylor friends to keep sending the positive messages so that the opportunity for the advancement of Baylor 2012 is not lost. You can e-mail your comments to support@friendsofbaylor.com.
BAYLOR GREEN GOES FOR THE GOLD IN ATHENS Baylor sprinter Jeremy Wariner has qualified for the U.S.A. Olympic Track Team and represents a serious threat to claim gold in the 400 meters as well as the 4x400-meter relay. He will be joined by teammate Darold Williamson, another sprinter. Coach Clyde Hart has done a wonderful job in training these athletes in the mold of Michael Johnson.
COACH MORRISS AND THE FIGHTIN’ BAYLOR BEARS Head Football Coach Guy Morriss spoke at the Coaches Kickoff Luncheon in Dallas Thursday, August 5. The luncheon was a roaring success with over 500 in attendance. Congrats to the Baylor Network and the Bear Foundation for organizing such a great event. Coach Morriss and his outstanding staff are likely to deliver a much-improved product this season. This team and program are worthy of great support. Let’s give it to them. FRIENDS OF BAYLOR EXPANSION PLANS The growth in interest and membership in Friends of Baylor has raised several organizational issues: Are there additional forms of communication amongst the membership that can be made available? How can members take a more active role in helping to “sell Baylor”? Can we sponsor events that are fun for members and raise money or positive awareness for Baylor? How do we further Baylor’s purposes while avoiding political critiques? Please share your thoughts by e-mailing support@friendsofbaylor.com. We want to understand how to best serve you and Baylor. We are planning to communicate to the broader Baylor Universe through mailings and TV spots in addition to our radio and newspaper placements. We would appreciate your help in further developing our mission.
