Bears Beat the Ponies

What a great way to start the season!!! Although the Bears got off to a slow start, the hard work of our players and coaches paid off as we beat the Mustangs in Dallas on their own turf 28-23. Not only did we put up more points on the scoreboard but it also looked like Baylor put more fans in the stands as well!

Baylor takes on Samford this Saturday at 6:00pm at Floyd Casey Stadium for our first homegame of the year! We hope to see you there cheering on the Bears!!!

Tommy Tabor & family, Dutch Schroeder, Donell Teaff

A huge pre-game party was hosted at the home of Dary and Lindy Stone this past Saturday in Dallas before the Baylor-SMU game. Over 250 Baylor folks, including Athletic Director Ian McCaw, Interim President Bill Underwood, Coach Grant Teaff, BU greats Robin Jones, Walter Abercrombie, J.J. Joe, Santana Dotson, Danielle Crockrom, Tommy Bowman and many other former athletes attended the event. The "B" Association and the Baylor Network deserve the credit for making this event a great way to kick off another season of Baylor football!

BU's "Bruiser" Named to Capital One All-America Team

"Bruiser" from Baylor University has been named to the fourth annual Capital One All-America Mascot Team, made up of 12 lovable, hard-working and oddly-proportioned characters deemed the best of the beasts. Now, Bruiser is up for an even bigger challenge as he goes on to compete for the most coveted title in the land -- "Capital One Mascot of the Year."

Singletary Article

" A lot of the really good kids don't understand the dynamics of Baylor. They think Baylor is for doctors and lawyers and preachers. They don't understand that Baylor also has a rich tradition of being a great football school."

These are the words of our own Mike Singletary who was featured in a wonderful article in the Dallas Morning News last week, detailing his life on and off the field. Singletary's new book "Mike Singletary: One on One" is a MUST read for all Baylor fans!
