Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas!

Nativity Picture
We are grateful for the “season”. We are grateful for the “holiday”. However, the point is Jesus Christ. It is His birth that calls us together to celebrate and worship His Lordship. We encourage all the Baylor family to offer up a bold “Merry Christmas” greeting to everyone who will listen.

“This is my son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.” Luke 9:35

It is More Blessed to Give ......

Coach Morriss

We are pleased to report that the request by Coach Teaff for funds to complete the construction of the Kyle Woods home has been amply met. Coach Grant Teaff said, “Since Kyle was injured in 1979, coaches, teammates and the Baylor family refused to forget him, helping him graduate from college, providing a handicap equipped vehicle and a safe usable home. These same caring people, under the servant direction of Prof. L.M. Dyson, have now coalesced their efforts in providing a wonderful “handicap ready” home for Kyle that should be completed in January. Kyle is deeply appreciative and understands from the depth of his heart how much the Baylor family cares.”

Friends of Baylor thanks all of those who so readily answered the call to fund the completion of the project. We also honor the servant leadership of Coach Teaff and Professor Dyson.

Party with the Bears in the New Year!

January 5th, Dallas, American Airlines Center

Baylor men's basketball
Baylor fans, we have a big huge hog hairy basketball game to play right after New Year’s in Dallas. Scott Drew’s 8-1 Baylor Bears basketball team will host the Arkansas Razorbacks at the fabulous American Airlines Center at 7:30 pm. This will be a clash between a former National Championship program and perhaps a soon to be National Championship caliber program. Coach Drew’s hoopsters are the real deal with quality wins already against four teams who participated in last year’s NCAA tournament and an important road win against South Carolina last night by a score of 92-84. We are also receiving Top 25 votes by the pollsters. The Hog Heads may have us outnumbered with RV’s on game day, but we will own the crowd. With 25,000+ alumni in the DFW Metroplex the Baylor Nation will absolutely make this feel like the “home game” that it technically will be. The 3 Point Club and the Fast Break Club will meet for a pre-game rally at The Old # 7 Club at the American Airlines Center. The Baylor Letterwinners are gathering at the House of Blues at 4:00 for dinner and pre-game hype. The game itself will be a great family event. Come early. Come loud. We want to get this one!

You can buy tickets through Ticket Master at www.ticketmaster.com or (214) 373-8000.

It May Be Basketball Season But We Still Want to Talk Some More About Baylor Football

That’s right, lots of good news

Art Briles

To summarize, Coach Art Briles can coach (check his record), can recruit (check Rivals.com), can hire great coaches (ex. Coach Brian Norwood coming from Penn State) and we are told he can actually preach a little.

Sports writers, coaches across the country, and members of the Baylor family who know or have recently met Coach Briles all sing the praises of our new gridiron leader. He has had an immediate impact on recruiting and expect to see more exciting announcements over the next several weeks. His coaching staff is being filled with high quality individuals from successful major programs. Coach Briles walks and talks like he’s been at Baylor for 30 years. He fits. Get ready!
